Hello! My name is Michael Barfield, I also go by Mike. I am certified through NASM in personal training. At one point in my life, I weighed 315 lbs, had hypertension, struggled with depression, anxiety, and suicide. I woke up one morning and decided to take back my life and discovered the world of fitness. Through my journey my hypertension disappeared, I became less depressed, all anxiety disappeared, and I eventually ending up competing in bodybuilding competitions. Not only did I develop a stronger body through fitness, I also developed a stronger mind. I believe in not only transforming the body, but the mind and spirit as well.
I train both men and women with a combination of resistance training and interval cardio training. I specialize in weight-loss management and hypertrophy (building/toning muscle). I also have experience coaching beginner powerlifters.
